SUGGESTIONS FOR SNOQUALMIE VALLEY
DAY TRIPS
The Snoqualmie Valley is undoubtedly one of the most
beautiful areas in the Pacific Northwest. Just 30 short minutes
east of Seattle, stretching from farming country and quiet back
roads through Duvall, Carnation, Fall City, Preston, Snoqualmie,
North Bend, and up to nearby Snoqualmie Pass, the Snoqualmie
Valley offers spectacular recreation, interesting attractions,
unique shopping experiences, and delicious treats for every
pallet. With such a vast cornucopia to choose from, we couldn't
possibly list every idea here at once, so here are just a few
suggestions to whet your appetite and assist you in creating
your own perfect get-a-way to the closer-than-you-think, unforgettable,
Snoqualmie Valley. (Note: Be sure to check back with us,
as our day trip suggestions will be updated with new ideas quarterly!)
OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS
Here are suggestions and links to a whole range of
outdoor activities available to the public in the Spring/Summer
& beyond. Located throughout the Snoqualmie Valley, they include
different hikes, parks, interpretive centers, farm tours, and
scenic destinations. Don't forget to eat as you're adventuring
your way through the Valley! For a complete list of
Valley Restaurants.
Hiking
Great hikes abound in the Snoqualmie Valley! Come up
and enjoy a hike up the Mt Si Trail; an 8-mile hike round trip
(take lots of water!), it is Washington's second-most hiked
trail. It is challenging but will be worth it once you see the
spectacular views of Snoqualmie Valley, Rattlesnake Ledge, Mt.
Rainier and the Olympic Mountains. Little Si is a great alternative
for those who want views of the Valley and a shorter hike. Plan
one hour each way for this moderate climb.
Biking
If biking is more your thing, plan on a leisurely day
and bike the quiet country back roads of the lower Snoqualmie
Valley or on the Snoqualmie
Valley Trail that starts in Duvall and meanders past farms
on an easy railroad grade to North Bend.
Water Sports - Kayaking, rafting,
and canoeing
Offering more than 40 miles of pristine whitewater
for nearly every kayak, raft and canoe skill level, the Middle
Fork of the Snoqualmie River rates among the nation's finest
whitewater resources. It features run rates from Class II to
Class V+. The nearby Raging River also offers a kayaking run.
The Preston to Fall City section of Raging River is 5 miles
long and it is classified as a class III+ by American Whitewater.
